Gentlemen:
Two play situations which happened in southern California.
1) A BESR stamp or sticker is not required for wooden bats.
2) Anytime a batted ball goes under a fence and is out of play, ONE umpire, preferably the base umpire, should go out and be sure the ball is actually out of play. This is regardless of whether or not the out of play ball is clearly visable to the umpires. This is a credibility issue to the participants.

Is a batted or thrown ball that is clearly visible to the umpires, clearly visible to coaches player and fans in most cases? A ball that is clearly visible but close to fence or demarcation line, should be visited by an umpire.
